Anarcha-Feminism
& Gender Anarchy Resource Page
Contribute
There
are currently three things you can do to contribute to this
page. One is providing me with cool links. Another is writing
up your opinion on one or more of a series of questions that
I provide. The other is to give me access to text that you
have already written.
1)
Cool Links
Do
you know of some cool links I haven't added? Let me know.
Email sallydarity@yahoo.com.
Don't
use this text field yet.
2)
Questions
I
will post several questions. Give your response to any of
the questions (any length is fine, I think) and it will be
posted on this website for others to read. This will be an
experiment because I'm not sure how well this will work. I
plan to post the responses periodically. Here are the questions:
What
would you suggest for a framework with which anarchists can
organize around gay marriage/civil unions and/or reproductive
rights?
What
type of role do you see women taking in anarchist groups and
organizing? Are they recognized for what they do? Do they
seek recognition? Are women able to work well together in
your community?
How
does the struggle against the gender binary relate to anarchy
and freedom?
Do
you feel pressure to put aside gender issues to take up "real"
issues?
How
can we make the revolution more "danceable"?
What
do you think of this
article?
Email
your responses to sallydarity@yahoo.com

Request for Contributions (full text of request)
I
work on the website entitled "Anarcha-Feminism and Gender
Anarchy Resource Page". I have spent time searching the
internet for articles, webpages, and other resources that
either are anarchist or radical and address women's issues,
queer issues, gender issues, or are about anarchist women.
On the page, you can see the amount of info i was able to
find on the net (as of July). (Feel free to provide me with
more links.)
I have recently been given space on anarcha.org. Because I
now have more space to work with, I want to acquire writing
that is currently not on the web and publish it on the web
to make it more readily available. I would like authors who
think their work is appropriate for this site to provide the
text of their writing for publication on the website.
To me, anarcha-feminism means being against all oppression,
domination, and authority, but focussing on gender oppression,
not because it is most important, but because it affects so
many of us and must be dealt with. I say gender oppression
instead of just patriarchy or sexism because i think feminism
needs to be broader than just women's issues. Gender oppression
includes patriarchy, sexism, homophobia, heterosexism, heteronormativity,
transphobia, the gender binary, fatphobia + other body image
issues, sexual violence, etc.
I want to provide this space for writing around these issues
and by voices that are not as often heard. I do not restrict
the page to only anarchist writing, but there is a line that
must be drawn. Also, priority in the beginning is given to
writing on gender issues over issues not relating as much
to gender.
Please forward or provide this information to authors who
would be interested in having their writing on this site.
If you would like your writing on the website, please provide
the text and fill out the form on the right. There are a few
ways you can do this.
+You can email me the form and the text (the text as a word
attachment or within the email, but preferably an attachment)
to sallydarity@yahoo.com.
+You can email me the form information and a link to your
writing if it is already on the internet.
+You can mail me the filled out form and a copy of the text
and i will type out the writing myself (please restrict this
to less than 2 full 8.5/11 pages, and obviously it'll take
a lot longer to get on the page) to Stacy P.O. Box 3438, Tempe,
AZ 85281. If you mail it, please do not expect it to be mailed
back and I also cannot promise that I will have time to type
out a lot of writing, so it may never end up on the page.
This is just a service i figure i could provide to some extent
to make this happen.
The
Form:
Your name or alias-
Your contact information (let me know if you do not want this
available to more than just me)-
Title of piece-
Topic under which this piece fits (I'll work with what people
give me instead of making up the categories first)-
Approx date it was written-
If it was ever published at all, what publication(s)-
Optional details about you or your piece-
If
you do your own publication (like a zine) and you would prefer
that your writing not be on the internet, you are welcome
to provide a link or an email address to be added to the Anarchist/Gender
related zines/newspapers list on the resources page.
